'Best Musical 2017'
Yet again EODS has been awarded the prestigious 'Best Musical' award in its region for 'Chess The Musical'.
23rd-24th June - A Summer Gala - Broadway Lifford Hall
14th - 18th November - "9 to 5 The Musical" - Evesham Arts Centre
Awards & Nomination
2017 - "Chess - The Musical" won Best Musical in the regional NODA awards - we are very very proud of Greg, his team and the cast for putting on such a spectacular Award Winning Show.
2015 - "The Music In Me" won Best Musical in the regional NODA awards. Chloe, John D and Rebecca B went to the ceremony and were obviously delighted to win!
2012 - "Ultimate 80s" won Best musical in the regional NODA awards. We were obviously thrilled with this award.
We have been nominated for NODA awards in
2008 - Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Dean Bayliss
2012- Ultimate 80's
2012 - One For The Road (Willy Russells play), directed this time by Ken Knight
2013 - Stepping Out - a play with music
2014 - Sweeney Todd
2015 - The Music In Me
In April 2015 we received yet another nomination - this time for EODS production of Sweeney Todd. The nomination was for Best Musical - sadly we didn't win, but it's well worth the accolade of the nomination.
In 2012 we were gratified to be nominated once again for a regional NODA award. This time for our production of the Willy Russell play "One for the Road" (which we staged in the Evesham Arts Centre's studio theatre in July 2013).
We were unsuccessful on the night of the awards but it's always an honour to be nominated and Ken Knight (Director), Amy Trotman and Marcus Gilks (two of the stars of the play) had a great time at the awards Ceromony.
We have been nominated several times for awards, with five in a row from 2012-2015, so we'll keep fingers crossed for next years awards.
EODS Recognised for Charity Fundraising
On Friday 27th June, John and Joyce Doyle, Ruth Organ, Steve and Alison Roberts had the pleasure of representing the Society at the firs Evesham Bell Tower Appeal Awards, where EODS were recognized for the contribution we have made towards raising funds and also the profile of the appeal.
As the President's Nominated Charity for the year, so far, we have sung carols at the switching on of Evesham's Christmas Lights, performed a concert in All Saints Church and have had collections at the end of our performances at the Arts Centre.
Have you got something you need to tell the Society? - the newsletter is the place to do it. John Dix would love to hear from you - contact him on firstname.lastname@example.org
